Midnapore Read-A-Thon

Our Parent Council Read-a-thon has now raised over $20,000! We are truly blown away by the incredible number of minutes read and the generosity of our school community.

The Parent Council team is currently working hard to finalize the total donations and tally all student reading minutes. We suspect there will be a BIG announcement coming next week; stay tuned!

Thank you to all our students and families for your amazing support and congratulations to all our students for how many minutes they read!

Staffing

We are so excited that Ms. Yang will be expecting her first child in the upcoming weeks.  Although we are excited for her, we will be sad to be without her for a year.  Ms. Yang’s last day will be this Friday, May 8.  Please join me in congratulating her. Mr. Keith/ Kin Hung Yu will be taking over our Mandarin Kindergarten class. Keith has been a FYTT teacher at Midnapore School for this year and knows our school and the students within this class very well. We are excited to have Keith at Midnapore school.

No Energy Club next week

We apologize, but there will be no energy club next week due to construction in the gym.

AHS Vaccination Date for Grade 6 date change

We apologize but Midnapore School and AHS have changed our Grade 6 round 2 vaccination date.  Those who completed their form will now have their second round of vaccination on May 22nd, not May 25th.  Thank you

Mandarin Program

This week, Grade 2 students had the opportunity to explore art through wool felting. Connecting with our learning about Alberta’s landscapes, students created beautiful pieces representing the prairies and the Rocky Mountains. They had a wonderful time discovering how wool is harvested from sheep and learning about the process of dyeing. It was a fun and engaging hands-on experience for everyone!

School Council Meeting

We are excited to host our next School Council meeting on May 11 at 6:30 PM.  This will be a hybrid meeting with an In-person or online option for you to attend.  Please put this date in your calendar if you’re able to attend.
