Princpal Update

Good afternoon, Midnapore Families. Please read important information about the upcoming week as we count down the final few weeks of school. 

**Sports Day Volunteers needed** 

Parent Volunteers are needed for Sports Day Happening on June 19th. If you are a cleared volunteer and can come from 8:30 until 11 please click the link below to access the signup genius.

Transportation is now Open for Registration for next year 

Families are now able to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. Service levels and fees are outlined below. Registration is available through MyCBE. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.) 

Families must apply by Sunday, June 14, 2026 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year. We continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 14 deadline will be delayed. It may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus. 

Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August. 

Call for Executive Officers & Board Directors- School council 

Midnapore School is seeking volunteers to fill three key leadership positions for the upcoming school year. To streamline our support for the school, the individuals elected to these roles will serve concurrently as the Executive of the School Council and the Fund-Raising Society and as the Board of Directors for the Fund-Raising Society.  

Why two roles? 

  • School Council: Advises the Principal and CBE on school operations. 
  • Parent Society: A formal, incorporated body under the Societies Act responsible for fundraising (e.g., Casinos) and managing financial support for school projects. 

Position Descriptions 

  • Chair / President: Leads both Council and Society meetings; acts as the primary representative for the parent community. 
  • Vice-Chair / Vice-President: Supports the Chair and assumes leadership responsibilities when needed; manages parent communication. 
  • Secretary: Records and maintains separate minutes for both Council and Society meetings to ensure legal compliance. 
  • Directors-at-Large (New): We are also seeking general Directors to join the Parent Society Board to assist with decision-making and fundraising oversight without the time commitment of an executive role.  

We are also looking for a Healthy Hunger Fundraising Coordinator:  

This position oversees one of our largest fundraisers, directly supporting valuable student experiences like residencies and field trips. The role involves organizing 3–4 lunch events per month throughout the school year, with planning starting in August. It’s a great way to get involved and make a real difference in our school community.  

If you or someone you know is passionate about supporting our school community, we encourage you to reach out. Serving on the Parent Council is a meaningful way to make a real impact on student experiences, school initiatives, and the future of Midnapore School.

Library Books Due Back – June 15th   

In preparation for summer break, we are requesting that all borrowed library books be returned no later than June 15.  This will ensure that no books go missing over the summer.  Please assist your children in locating any books that they may have at home.  A list of overdue books will be sent out the week of June 22.

 YCT Results 

We received our YCT results, and the Mandarin grade 4 students did a tremendous job! Our class achieved a 100% passing rate, and even more impressively, 77% of our students earned full marks. These outstanding results reflect the students’ hard work, perseverance, and potential, as well as the ongoing support and encouragement they receive from their parents and families. This achievement would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of our families and the school community. It is truly a proud moment for our Mandarin Bilingual community!  

YCT考试成绩喜讯 

我们收到了本次YCT考试的成绩， 中文部四年级的同学们表现得非常出色！ 

我们班取得了 100%的通过率，更令人振奋的是，77%的学生获得了满分成绩。这些优异的成绩充分展现了孩子们的努力、坚持和潜力，也离不开家长们一直以来的支持与鼓励。 

这份成绩离不开家长们与学校社区的共同努力和密切合作。每一位孩子、家长都为此付出了辛勤的努力，都值得为这一成果感到自豪。 

这不仅是孩子们成长道路上的一个重要里程碑，更是我们中英双语项目大家庭引以为傲的时刻！衷心感谢大家一直以来的支持与陪伴，让我们一起为孩子们的出色成绩喝彩！
