Mandarin Team Update

All Grade 3 students participated in the Readers and Leaders Program, a year-long library program that runs from September to June.

This Wednesday, two librarians, four police officers, and one 911 dispatcher visited Midnapore School to read books to our students. The police officers and 911 dispatcher also shared information about their important roles in the community and answered students’ questions.

To wrap up the visit, each student had the opportunity to borrow two books from the librarians.

It was a wonderful learning experience that encouraged students to develop their love of reading while learning more about the important people who help keep our community safe!

Halloween Events and Activities

Midnapore School is looking forward to another exciting Halloween celebration filled with creativity, community spirit, and a focus on student well-being and learning!

Great Pumpkin Event – Thursday, October 29

We are pleased to continue our Great Pumpkin Event, inviting families to carve a pumpkin together and share their creations with our school community.

On Thursday, October 29, students are welcome to bring their pumpkins to school, where they will be displayed for everyone to enjoy. We will also recognize some of the wonderful creations with awards in categories such as Most Creative, Scariest, Funniest, and more!

We look forward to seeing the creativity and imagination of our Midnapore families on display.

Halloween Costumes – Friday, October 30

Students are invited to wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 30.

We ask that costumes be safe, school-appropriate, and welcoming for all students. Please ensure that:

  • no candy is to be brought to school,
  • no weapons and weapon-like accessories are included,
  • and keep in mind that we have children as young as five years old in our building.
  • If students wear a mask that is unsafe for our activities, we will ask them to remove it for that activity (Dance).

Our goal is to create a fun and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and can enjoy the celebration.

Halloween Dance – Friday, October 30

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a Halloween Dance on October 30!

To ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone, we will host three separate dances organized by grade level. Students will have the chance to celebrate with their peers, enjoy music, and share in the excitement of the day.

Food Donations for Canadian Veterans

Finally, as we look ahead to our learning and activities throughout November, we will be collecting food donations in support of our Canadian veterans. This is a meaningful opportunity for our students to demonstrate kindness, gratitude, and community responsibility while recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of those who have served our country.

Thank you for your continued support in making Midnapore School a welcoming, caring, and engaging place for all students. We look forward to celebrating Halloween together and creating another memorable experience for our school community!

Choir – Practice Slides

Midnapore Choir students have begun working on their first pieces. If you would like to practice harmonies at home (especially for the upcoming Remembrance Day assembly!), please use the QR code given at practice, or click the link here.

Parking in the Staff Parking Lot

We ask that no parents use the staff parking lot to drop off or pickup as it is unsafe with students walking through.

Student Fees/Field Trip Fees

Families will be notified of outstanding fees that they owe on a monthly basis.  We hope families can pay their fees so that we can continue to benefit from off-site experiences connected to your child's learning.

How to pay your school fees:

  • Legal Guardians are responsible for paying student school fees each year.
  • Field Trips fees need to be paid prior to the event taking place.
