Dear Midnapore Families,
Thank you to those who participated in our weekly literacy activities this week. It is great to see our students engaging in multiple ways to enjoy the benefits of reading. We are continuing with our school wide tabs for wheelchair initiatives. Our Grade one classes are challenging all classes to bring in as many can tabs as possible as we work to achieve our school goal.
Movie Night
We are excited to share that on May 1 we will be hosting a school wide Movie night here at Midnapore School. We will be sharing the movie “Babe.” This event will support our Grade 6 students who are attending camp at the end of May. The event will start at 5:30pm with doors opening at 5pm. We are requesting a $2 admission fee that will go directly to our Grade 6 camp fundraising. In addition, students will have the opportunity to purchase Kernels popcorn, which can be had during our movie. To purchase a bag of popcorn, please visit our healthy hunger website and make your order. Orders must be placed by this weekend.
Literacy Month at Midnapore School
It was a great third week of our Literacy Month! Congratulations to the many students who won awards this week, specifically those who won our bookmark contest. We had many fun events this week, including reading with Coco. Our Admin team handed out Hot Coco to students while students listened to classical jazz music. Please read the activities below as we continue to have a fun and exciting literacy month here at Midnapore School.
This week, we have more fun activities planned:

April 23 - Students are asked to bring a breach towel to school. On Tuesday we will be enjoying the wonderful beach sun and will be reading outside during a designated time.
April 24 - On Wednesday we will be celebrating Earth Week and will be reading in the dark. Students can bring a flashlight to school and will be given a designated time to read in the classroom in the
dark.
April 25 - Outdoor & Camp style literacy game day. Teachers will be planning outdoor camp literacy games with their classes to provide a unique and fun way to enjoy reading.
April 26 - Race and Relay literacy games outside. Classes will be participating in relay race games during their P.E. times.
