Dear Midnapore Families

It was great to see so many families attend our school conferences this week.  We had a number of parents attend their conferences to hear about the great work that their child is doing.  We would also like to say a special thank you to our school council for the yummy breakfast this morning and the great supper last evening.  Our staff greatly appreciate all that you do for us, and we feel very blessed to have such a wonderful parent community to work with.

Winter Clothing Donations

As winter approaches, some families in our community are in need of warm clothing for their children. We are currently collecting donations of gently used or new winter jackets for kids, sizes 8-14, to ensure that every child stays warm and safe this season. If you have any jackets that no longer fit your child or have any extras at home, we would greatly appreciate your generosity. Please drop any donations off at the front office. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of local families. Thank you for helping keep our kids warm this winter!

***Save the Date *** Winter Celebration/Warm Feet for the Street

We are excited to once again host our annual Warm Feet for the Street holiday event.  On December 18 we will host two exciting events for our students and families.  Ms. Morin has been working extra hard to prepare our Winter celebration concert for each of you.  Please join us on Wednesday, December 18 at 12:45pm as every grade in our school will be preparing a special song for you.  Our concert will run until 1:45pm.

Warm Feet for the Street- At 1:45 pm we are inviting all families to visit their child(s) classroom and stuff socks for those less fortunate.  Our socks will be stuffed with items donated by our amazing teachers and families.  You will also have a chance to place your stuffed socks under our tree after school, enjoy some winter treats and enjoy this wonderful experience in the company of our friends and family. Please bookmark this day as it promises to bring joy to all. On Friday, December 20 we will drop all our donations and socks off to the Mustard Seed and do our best to bring joy to those less fortunate.  Please start bringing in as many donations as you can (toothbrushes, deodorant, gum, etc.) next week and we will start a collection in our classrooms.

Intramurals/Clubs

We are excited to share that we have now started clubs and intramurals at Midnapore school.  We will keep you informed as more club's role in, and which grades they are for.  Intramurals will be run for every grade and will be run during the cold months of the year.  We have decided to start with our Grade ¾ Mandarin program, as well as our Grade 4 regular class.  All students in these classes are invited to attend over lunch.

Gym Closed

We apologize but the gym will be closed for all next week as we continue to have our school painted.  Phys-Ed classes will continue to run but will be held outside or in the classroom.  As we are never sure of the weather in Calgary, please continue to dress your child in jackets, snowpants, gloves and a hat.
