Happy Lunar New Year- We would like to take this time to thank all students, teachers and families who helped this week and with last evening's celebrations.  Last evening was filled with music, songs, poetry, dancing and many other cultural festivities.  What an evening and thank you to all who participated.  

Kindergarten Registration Opens- Please note that kindergarten registration opens Monday, January 13. Please don’t hesitate to contact the school 403-777-8680 if you require any support.  

To register please visit Student Registration and follow the steps based on your child.  

Absence Line 

Please leave your child’s teacher’s name, class number, spell your child’s first and last names clearly and reason for the absence. 

Fees 

On February 26, 2025, all the grade 3 and 4 classes will be attending the Brave Hitmen game at the Scotiabank Saddledome. This fee is now posted on your account. 

Lates 

We are experiencing many late comers every morning. We urge you to try your best to come to school on time as much learning starts immediately after the bell rings. If you are going to be late and you leave a message please leave your child’s teacher’s name, room number and spell your child’s first and last names clearly and reason for the late.

Family Literacy Week 

The Calgary Board of Education will celebrate Family Literacy Week from January 26 to February 2 to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. The theme of this year's Literacy Week is Learn to Be Green – Together, emphasizing the importance of nurturing both our planet and our community. The CBE Literacy & Early Learning Team is celebrating Family Literacy Day by sharing information and activities to support literacy development at home and at school. 

School Council and Parents of Midnapore School

Earlier this week we met for our scheduled School council meeting.  During this meeting it was announced that we will be in search of a new council treasurer.  First, we would like to thank Chris for his hard work and dedication to our council and school.  Chris, we appreciate all that you have done and wish you and your family the best.   

Next, our council Treasurer is responsible for handling the financial documents, reporting the budget and possibly for signing authority for our overall funds.  If you are interested in nominating yourself, please email midnapore.schoolcouncil@gmail.com
