Dear Midnapore Families
Thank you to our Kindergarten stars who taught us many lessons around truth. Wednesday’s assembly was filled with many lessons and summarized all the great work we have done around our Sacred teachings.
It was great to see so many old friends from Mid-Sun school this morning. The Mid-Sun Grade 9 band performed at Midnapore School and did not disappoint. Thank you to Mr. Hutchinson for introducing the great work and exciting options that occur at Mid-Sun school.
Library News
The students last week to take books home was June 3-6. In preparation for the summer break we are asking that all students please return any library books that they currently have checked out by June 13 . Please help your children search in many areas such as bookshelves, in the car, etc. During the week of June 20 overdue lists will be sent home. Students can use eLibrary to check for books on their accounts:
- Enter your CBE Username/Student ID and password into the login fields.
- Click "Login"
- Click on Accounts Tab and Review my Account.
Mandarin Program Update
- Our kindergarten hosted a successful assembly about truth.
- Grade 1s and grade 2s had a community walk tied into their social studies curriculum.
- Grade 3s and grade 4s had a BigFoot Snowshoe relay and showed their enthusiasm in teamwork and honesty.
- It is the Dragon Boat Festival on Monday, June 10! To celebrate the day, the grade 3s and grade 4s are going to make a kind of traditional food: Zongzi, to experience the spirit of the festival.
本周我们幼儿园的小朋友成功主办了一次生动活泼的集会。一年级和二年级的小朋友们趁着好天气，在学校附近的小区漫步并且练习了如何使用地图。三年级四年级的同学们穿上传统的雪地鞋进行了激烈的接力比赛。展示了他们的团队合作精神和诚实的品质。下周一就是端午节了！三年级和四年级的同学们要尝试制作传统的端午节食物-粽子，来体验节日气氛
Sports Day- June 14- 8:30am- 11:30 am
We are extremely excited about our upcoming Sports Day at Midnapore School. Our theme for 2024 will be “Everybody is an Athlete.” Students can wear any clothing or representation that allows them to feel confident and a part of our learning community. Blue and Orange Oiler jerseys are allowed but mostly frowned upon 😉
As always, we are putting a call out for some volunteers for this fun and action-packed day. Thank you to all who continue to support learning at Midnapore School. If you can support from 8:30-11:30 on Friday, June 14, please contact your child’s teacher.
Are your children attending Midnapore School next year?
As we are beginning to plan for the next school year, we would like to know if you are planning to remain at Midnapore School. Accurate enrolment data helps us to plan effectively.
We want to remind parents that our current grade 6 students will automatically be enrolled for grade 7 at their designated school for August 2024. Our Students in Grade 4 for the Mandarin Program will also automatically be enrolled in our partner Panabaker school program. You do not need to do anything to register.
Please inform us as soon as possible if your child(ren) will NOT be attending Midnapore School in August 2024 by emailing Mrs. Stewart at chstewart@cbe.ab.ca
Please confirm the following information in your email:
- Student Name(s)
- Current Classroom(s)
- New School
If you are transferring to a different CBE school, please complete the attached Student Transfer form and email Mrs. Stewart ASAP. If you are leaving the CBE school division, you do not need to complete the Student Transfer form.
If your child(ren) is/are remaining at Midnapore School next year, you do not need to email Mrs. Stewart, Thank you.

Thank you to our kindergarten families who have already registered for the 2024-25 school year. Early registration allows us to thoughtfully plan forward for staffing. If you have registered for kindergarten, please check your School Engage account to see if additional information is required for registration purposes. We will process registrations when we have received all required information and documents.
