Dear Families, please read the important details in the week ahead as we enter the final two weeks of the school year.  There is much to share, plan, celebrate and organize across all grades and programs at Midnapore School.

June is National Indigenous Month

On June 21, for National Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize and celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada. We will be inviting Chantal Chagnon to support our learnings as we continue with our land-based learning. We are excited to have Chantal back with us at Midnapore School.  Last month we welcomed Elder Jackie Bromley, not Jackie Bradley, into our building.  Elder Jackie supported us with our 7 Sacred teachings.  We will share our collective work and learnings at our end of the year assembly on June 26.

Staff Appreciation Message

Hi Midnapore families,

Just a quick reminder that we’re collecting snacks, treats, or flowers for our amazing staff during the last week of school! If you’re planning to contribute, thank you so much—your gestures go a long way in making our staff feel valued and celebrated.  You can drop off your item anytime that week at the front office. Every little bit adds up to something special!

Thanks again for helping us wrap up the year with gratitude and community spirit.

Warmly,

Monica Lee
Staff Appreciation Coordinator

Transportation

Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.

Transportation will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed.

Confirmed routes will be posted in August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.

Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025.

Eligibility:   If you live outside of the 1.6 km walk zone, your child will be eligible for yellow school bus transportation.  If you live inside the walk zone, your child is not eligible for transportation.

To find the Midnapore map, visit CBE’s Find a School Tool and follow these instructions:

  • Type in your home address or search by school in the drop-down menu.
