Dear Midnapore Families,
What an amazing day it was at Midnapore School. We celebrated our annual Sports day today where we were all Athletes. Thank you to the students, staff and parent volunteers who helped with this great day. Students were treated to oranges and a special snack courtesy of our school council.
National Indigenous People’s Day
We are excited to share that next Friday is National Indigenous People’s Day. We will be acknowledging this day by taking part in a land-based learning activity as an entire school in Fish Creek Park. Our Grade 5 students will be helping facilitate small group discussions to help with our transition and celebrations for what we have accomplished this school year.
Grade 6 PAT’s
A reminder to families that next week is our Social and Science PAT exams. Students have been doing field testing this month to prepare for our exams. We know you will do great.
Deadline Approaching - Next Year Transportation Registration
You can now register for the school bus service for the 2024-2025 school year. Service levels and proposed fees will remain the same as in the current school year. Register using MyCBE by June 16 to be included in route planning over the summer.
My 1st Ride
The CBE offers a school bus orientation program for first-time riders and their parents, called My 1st Ride. The program consists of a 20-minute presentation followed by a short ride on a school bus and a drama presentation. The sessions are free but you must register in advance. Learn more and register.
Report Cards – Go Live on June 26, 2024
Your child(ren)’s report card will go live on June 26, 2024, at 8:00 AM. You can access your child(ren)’s report card by signing into your MyCBE account, we strongly recommend you download a copy of the report card for your records. The school will not provide a hard copy of the report card. Your child(ren)’s report card will only be available for one month until July 26, 2024.
Mandarin Program Update
This week the Grade 3 and 4 students in the Mandarin Program made sticky rice dumplings to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival! These traditional dumplings are made by wrapping glutinous rice in bamboo leaves, which was quite tricky. Ms. Lucy and parent volunteers, thank you for your help! We had so much fun making and eating this delicious treat!
Congratulations to the Regular and Mandarin Program Grade 4 students who participated in the Math Club! This year in the Byron-Germain Math competition, Midnapore School has received 15th rank out of 294 participating schools in Canada. Grade 4 students, thank you for your hard work and dedication. We are so proud of you!
Also, congratulations to every Mandarin Grade 4s students who participated in the Youth Chinese Test (YCT). Everyone passed with flying colours and received Level 2 certification!

为庆祝端午节，中英双语项目三、四年级的学生们在本周体验了包粽子活动！感谢Lucy老师和家长志愿者们的帮忙，让学生们品尝到香甜美味的粽子以及体验欢乐的过节气氛。
祝贺每一位参加青少年汉语考试（YCT）的四年级学生。每位同学都通过考试并获得了二级认证。
同时也恭喜每位参加数学竞赛的四年级学生！今年的 Byron-Germain 数学竞赛中，美纳博小学在全加拿大 294 所参赛学校中排名第 15 位。感谢优秀的学生们为本校争光。我们为你感到自豪！
Are your children attending Midnapore School next year?
As we are beginning to plan for the next school year, we would like to know if you are planning to remain at Midnapore School. Accurate enrolment data helps us to plan effectively.
We want to remind parents that our current grade 6 students will automatically be enrolled for grade 7 at their designated school for August 2024. Our Students in Grade 4 for the Mandarin Program will also automatically be enrolled in our partner Panabaker school program. You do not need to do anything to register.
Please inform us as soon as possible if your child(ren) will NOT be attending Midnapore School in August 2024 by emailing Mrs. Stewart at chstewart@cbe.ab.ca

- New School
If you are transferring to a different CBE school, please complete the attached Student Transfer form and email Mrs. Stewart ASAP. If you are leaving the CBE school division, you do not need to complete the Student Transfer form.

Kindergarten Registrations – Please check you School Engage Account
Thank you to our kindergarten families who have already registered for the 2024-25 school year. Early registration allows us to thoughtfully plan forward for staffing. If you have registered for kindergarten, please check your School Engage account to see if additional information is required for registration purposes. We will process registrations when we have received all required information and documents.
