Dear Families,
A special thank you to our school council for supporting our most recent residency in SOGO. Students engaged in orienteering at Fish Creek Park this week and absolutely loved it. We received very positive feedback from our students and teachers around the engagement levels and orienteering teachings from SOGO. Thank you to all.
June is National Indigenous History Month
On June 21, for National Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize and celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada. We will be inviting Chantal Chagnon to support our learnings as we continue with our land-based learning. We are excited to have Chantal back with us at Midnapore School. Last month we welcomed Elder Jackie Bromley, not Jackie Bradley, into our building. Elder Jackie supported us with our 7 Sacred teachings. We will share our collective work and learnings at our end of the year assembly on June 26.
Sports Day Volunteers – Friday, June 20
We are looking for parent volunteers to help make our Sports Day a success! Volunteers are needed from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM to assist with stations, supervise students, and cheer on our athletes.

Transportation
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
Transportation will continue to accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed.
Confirmed routes will be posted in August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
