Dear Families, we appreciate those who attended our Wednesday assembly.  Our grade 3’s did an incredible job of sharing their learnings from the month of February.  Love was in the air, and we appreciate how they consistently display acts of kindness and role model this for all students at Midnapore School.  Thank you to all who made this a special day.  

Student-Led School Conferences – Online Only 

This conference is an opportunity for parents/guardians and teachers to discuss your child's current learning. These conferences will be student-led, so please ensure you book at a time you are able to join with your child. 

Parents can book appointments with teachers via their MyCBE accounts.  At least one parent/legal guardian in every family must have an active account.   

Access to book appointments with teachers will be available from Friday, March 14, 2025, at 12:00pm until Thursday, March 20 at Noon.  

Conferences will be held online.   If you prefer to make an alternate arrangement with your child's teacher, please email them directly.  

We look forward to celebrating Midnapore students' success. Although online, we are preparing for our Conferences to be student led so please ensure you have your child available during your online conference.  

Spring Picture Day 

We are excited that our spring picture day option is back for the 2025 school year.  This is optional to all families but one that many of our families appreciate.  Please view the schedule below for when it is your child’s spring picture day. 

Monday   

AM- Mandarin Kinder, Guogolj, Grade 6, Grade 3 (Hook, Bennett) 

PM- Gallant, Parker, Alexander, Mangat, Bell 

Tuesday  

AM- Mandarin Kinder, Dalidowicz, Jenkins, Liu, Yang, Wang, Plunz, Hartung 

Book Fair 

The Scholastics book fair which is usually hosted during Parent Conferences will be held during the school day on Thursday March 20.  Students will be given an opportunity to browse the fair on Wednesday March 19.  If your student would like to purchase an item from the book fair, please send cash and a bag labelled with their name on with your child on Thursday.  Students on Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten only will be able to purchase books on Wednesday, please send money with your Kindergarten student on Wednesday.  All students will be given a flyer by the end of the week.   

We are looking for volunteers who can help with the book fair set up on Tuesday March 18 in the morning, sales during the day on March 20 and close up on March 20 .  If you are able to assist, please see link below and pick an available slot.

School Engagement 

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we will be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives. Your opinion helps us make decisions with your child(ren) in mind. 

During this engagement, you will have the opportunity to learn about: 

• School planning, which includes our school development plan, school budget and school fees 
• How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes 
• How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan 
• School fees and why they are necessary

Clubs 

We are excited to share that more clubs are coming your way.  Clubs will run over lunch and be at no cost to any family.  Over the next month there will be Grade 5/6 hockey intramurals, Grade 1 dance, a Games club in grade 2, a craft club, a Grade 3 math club, and choir will continue to take place for Grades 3-6.    

Choir Members 

Please note that Choir will be Wednesday over the lunch hour just for this week to avoid a scheduling conflict. Students are welcome to practice current pieces or past favourites by clicking here for our practice slides.
