Dear Families, it is with great appreciation that we thank our school council again for their support for our Grade 6 camp trip. Although our Grade 6’s did a great deal of fundraising, this trip would not have been possible without the support from our council. Our Grade 6 students had a wonderful experience where they were very positive and supportive of each other. Also, a special thank you to Ms. Gordon Cooper, Ms. Carriere and Ms. Miller for their dedication and support in ensuring this trip happened. We are lucky to have such amazing staff at Midnapore school and these three went above and beyond this week. Thank you to all!!
🌏 Week 3 & 4: Asian Heritage Month Collaboration 🌏
Next week, to continue our celebration of Asian Heritage Month, students in both the regular program and Mandarin bilingual classes will team up to explore traditional Asian art forms and sports. This exciting collaboration will give students the opportunity to learn from one another and deepen their appreciation for the richness and diversity of Asian cultures.
🎨🏸 Activities may include creating artwork inspired by Asian artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Hokusai, and Rangoli patterns, as well as practicing traditional games like Jianzi, Tai Chi, and Origami as a mindfulness activity.
All student projects and artwork will be proudly displayed in the Learning Commons during the last week of May for the whole school community to enjoy!
Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation
We are excited to welcome all new families to next year’s Kindergarten class at Midnapore School. On Friday, May 23 we will be hosting our Welcome to Kindergarten orientation here at the school. Please bring your child as we will provide a learning space for them to work with our teachers. There will also be an informational session for parents as we want to support you during this exciting transitional time. Our Welcome to Kindergarten will be from 1-2 pm. There is no need to RSVP, and our teachers will meet you at the door.
Transportation
On May 24 & 25, the CBE and its partners are offering the My 1st Ride bus orientation program. This free event is designed to familiarize students with the experience of taking the yellow bus to and from school. The orientation is aimed at first-time riders and students with special transportation needs.
