A very special thank you to those parents who supported our casino last weekend.  We are so grateful for the ongoing support our school council has given our community.  By attending the casino, you are giving our students opportunities to participate in residencies, new technology, and many new learning tools for our students.  Thank you!

School pictures are ready! 

Your child’s school pictures are now available! To view them online, please log in to your account at mylifetouch.ca. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one using your email address. You’ll need your student’s ID number to locate their photos. 

  • Important: If you don’t know your student’s ID number, please do not contact the school. Paper proofs containing your login credentials will be sent to your home shortly, allowing you to view the images online. 
  • Bonus: All families can also order a FREE digital Pictures2Protect Card—a great way to keep your child’s photo and emergency info handy. Learn more about the Pictures2Protect program here.

Attendance 

When calling in your child’s absence, please state your child’s name. Spell your child’s name. Homeroom Teacher, grade and reason for the absence or other reason. 

Friday’s 

We would appreciate you calling or emailing a message if you are picking up your child early, as on Friday mornings we are extremely busy here in the office and we would appreciate your support in helping with the timing and keeping the office as calm as we can. 

Parent Teacher Conferences- November 27 and 28 

This conference is an opportunity for parents/guardians and teachers to discuss your child's current learning. 

Parents can book appointments with teachers via their MyCBE account.  At least one parent/legal guardian in every family must have an active account.   

Access to book appointments with Teachers wis now available and will be until Wednesday November 26, 2025, at 11:59 pm. 

Conferences will be held in-person, in the child's classroom.   If you prefer to make an alternate arrangement with your child's teacher, please email them directly.

Lockdown and Fire Drills this week 

The safety of all students and staff of Midnapore School is of great importance. To that end, we have been working to establish appropriate safety measures for the various situations that may occur and affect our staff and students. 

Lockdowns are a long-standing expectation of everyone who congregates in a setting such as a school. We are required to have a minimum of two lockdowns each school year. Our students and staff treat each drill as though it was the real thing, and we are very proud of their performance during those drills. Teachers keep class lists with them during all drills, and attendance is always taken. Parents or other visitors are expected to evacuate the building when the fire alarm is sounded. 

Teachers are trained in first aid and have thoroughly reviewed emergency plans with the children. We appreciate your support in these very important matters.  

We also practiced a Fire drill this week where students demonstrated their ability to exit the building quickly and quietly.  Great job, Midnapore Students. 

Mandarin Team Update  

周一和周二是学校的拍照日，全体学生都拍摄了自己的照片。您孩子在学校拍照日的照片现已可以查看和订购了。周一，中文一年级的学生参观了Leighton Art Centre。周三，中文三年级的学生参观了Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area。家长会是在11月27和28日。与教师预约的通道现已开放，截止时间为2025年11月26日（星期三）晚上11:59。下周天气将迎来降温，请让您的孩子注意保暖。
