Dear Midnapore Families,
Thank you again to all those families who participated in our Halloween learning activities. Our Great Pumpkin event was one of the best ever with over 120 pumpkins this year. We had a mixture of funny, scary and creative themes and students/families did an amazing job of supporting this fun and engaging activity. If you missed out, no need to worry, we will do this event again next year. Please visit our website for pictures of this fun event. Ms. Song is also leading our school Instagram and many pictures of our fun activities can always be viewed there @Midnaporeschool.

Alien In-line Residency
Our staff would like to thank our parent council for supporting our upcoming residency which will begin on Monday, October 28. All students will have multiple opportunities to participate in this residency during the designated Physical Education class. Skates and helmets will be provided by our residency, but you are able to bring your own helmet if you wish to. If you would like to volunteer and have your police clearance, please contact your child’s teacher. Our Alien In-line continues throughout the month of November and will conclude on November 18.
Purdys Fundraiser
This year, our goal is to raise money for in-school residencies, so we need your help—but don’t worry, all the work you're doing is choosing which chocolates to order. Stock up on beautiful gift boxes, fun chocolate lollies, Sweet Georgia Browns and more. All profits will go directly to Midnapore School. So, satisfy those cravings, get all your gift-shopping done while supporting a great cause.

Mandarin Team Update
Happy Halloween! This week our school got into the spooky spirit by hosting different Halloween activities! The students created, carved and submitted their pumpkins for the great pumpkin event! We had over 100 pumpkins! From Pikachu, to Minions, to scary monsters and fairy homes! Then our whole school got to dance in their Halloween costumes! Thank you to the grade sixes for organizing such a fun event! To tie in our learning with the season, grade 3 and 4 students have been learning about spooky lakes from around the world! Acting as Limnologists (scientists who study inland bodies of water) students have learned that not all lakes are filled with fresh water. Some have a combination of salt and freshwater, some are filled with acid, lava or even toxic sludge! Students have learned that these spooky lakes happen not because of ghosts or ghouls, but instead through natural phenomena, scientific oddities, human interactions or environmental disasters. Our Earth is so fascinating.
