Good afternoon, Midnapore Families, Happy New Year to all!! A special thank you to all those parents who came this week with New Year's treats and who helped us kick off the year of the Horse. 

We are excited to share that Lunar New Year is quickly approaching, and it’s time to celebrate the Year of the Horse! In 2026, Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) was on Tuesday, February 17. This date marks the start of the Year of the Fire Horse, which lasts until February 5, 2027. 

Students in our Mandarin Program have been working very hard to prepare a special day of dancing, cultural songs, and events to share with our community. We are pleased to invite Mandarin Program families to attend our Lunar New Year celebration show on February 26 at 1:00 PM at Midnapore School. 

On the same day, our students will also be performing for our English Program at 10:00 AM. This performance is for our student population only. Thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you there as we celebrate together!

Pink Shirt Day 

We welcome all students to wear a pink shirt to school on February 25.  Pink shirt day encourages wearing pink to promote kindness, inclusivity, and solidarity, originating in 2007 when Nova Scotia students supported a peer bullied for wearing pink.

Parent-Teacher Conferences 

We are happy to share that our next round of School Conferences will be March 19 and 20.  We will open registration March 9 and will share more information about the format in the near future.  Your upcoming Conferences will be an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s report card and academic progress.
