Dear Midnapore Families,  

It was a full week of action around here at Midnapore School.  One of the highlights was our Grade 5/6 assembly performance where they introduced the teaching of humility.  The representation of our wolf allows us to think of others before we think of ourselves.  Our Grade 5/6 team will be leading our school wide initiative to raise items for the Mustard Seed.  Students are encouraged to bring extra items from home that may go to someone in need.  Examples of these items include a toothbrush, lip chap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. Our goal is to have every family and student join us on December 21st to pack these socks and help us show a school wide step towards humility.   

Winter Celebration 

Our Midnapore School Winter Celebration will work alongside our Midnapore School humility school project.  On December 21st from 1-2:30 we are welcoming all families to attend this event.  Families will have a chance to pack socks, do a classroom activity, and see our Winter celebration assembly with the following schedule.  

Group 1- K, 1, 2 

Group 2- 3, 4, 5, 6  

1-1:30- Group 1 Performance in the gym 

1-1:30- Group 2 in Classrooms 

Switch  

1:45- 2:15- Group 2 Performance in the gym 

1:45-2:15- Group 1 in Classrooms  

Midnapore School Open House 

We are excited to share that our Midnapore School Open house date has now been announced.  Those families interested in learning about our school for next year are invited to attend our Open house on January 11th from 6-7:30pm.  This invitation is for our English and Mandarin Programming and is for those potential new students in Grades K, and 1.  Please view our attached invitation or the link for more information.  Open House Information  

Mandarin Team Update 

转眼圣诞节就快到了，学生们都在积极地准备庆祝节目。二年级的同学们开始学唱圣诞歌， 同时我们也开始学唱春节晚会的大合唱歌曲。家长协会也忙着为学校的学生们筹款集资。十二月11日 -12日有可以集资7万加币的机会，需要很多的家长志愿者支持！

School Council Meeting 

We are excited to welcome parents to our next School council meeting, this Monday from 6:30-7:30pm.  Doors will open at 6pm for families to socialize so that we can call our meeting at 6:30. We will include an online version of this meeting and provide the hybrid option so that more families can join.  Please use the link below if you would like to join through the online format.  There will be two school-based guest groups joining us for this meeting.  Our Grade 5/6 team will be presenting their learning and are excited to share some of their experiences throughout this school year.  We are also excited to have our Lead Mandarin teacher, Fan Hildisheim join us to discuss some upcoming Chinese New Years news.

Purdy’s Fundraiser 

Pick up for the Purdys order will be Monday, December 4th at 2:30 pm at the front door, or at the Parent Council meeting at 6 pm in the Learning Commons. Orders not picked up will be sent home with your child.

2024-2025 Kindergarten Registration: 

2024-2025 Kindergarten registration will open on January 15, 2024.  Kindergarten students must be 5 years by December 31, 2024.  At least one legal guardian must reside in the Midnapore area.  Families interested in the Mandarin Program are also invited to register or to attend our open house information session on January 11, 2023. All registration must be completed online via your MyCBE account for parents with children in the CBE and via School Engage for new families to the CBE.
