Week Ahead Nov. 6-10 | Veteran's Food Bank & Remembrance Day Assembly, Casino, Fundraiser, Conferences, Mandarin Program
Dear Midnapore Families,
It was a very entertaining week here at Midnapore School. Thank you to all our parents who rocked it out in the gym for our Halloween Dance. Students and staff had an incredibly fun filled day with our dance and pumpkin gallery sharing. We had over fifty pumpkins that were brought in for sharing and we were all impressed with how creative, scary, and funny our pumpkins turned out to be. Thank you for sharing! You can view our pumpkin gallery, as well as many other learning opportunities occurring here at Midnapore School on our new Instagram account. Please check us out.

Veteran’s Food Bank Donations and Remembrance Day Assembly
Throughout November, we will continue to focus our teachings on Respect. As a school, we commit to bringing in canned or boxed food items to support our Veterans Food drive. The class that can donate the most food items will have one special student work in the office for the day. Students are excited for this opportunity and the purpose of supporting our local veterans.
On Wednesday, November 8, at 10:30am we are excited to host our annual Remembrance Day assembly here at Midnapore School. Ms. Plunz and several students have been working hard on their learnings and will be sharing these with our school community. If you are able to join us, we would love to have you join our assembly at this time.
Midnapore School School Council Casino
Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up for our school’s casino fundraiser on Dec 11 and 12. There are still a few shifts left. If we don’t get enough volunteers, we will lose the chance to make a lot of money for the school, and we won’t have the chance to do a casino again.
Anyone over 18 can volunteer. You do not need police clearance or any training. The roles are easy and staff will show us what to do. You can dress casually! You can also have transportation and babysitting costs reimbursed.

Mandarin Program Update
On Halloween Day (万圣节), we had a fun Chinese learning activity where we learned Halloween-related Chinese vocabulary and sentences using Kahoot. Through the game, students not only learned Chinese but also enjoyed the process, regardless of winning or losing.
Furthermore, a big shoot-out to those students who brought carved pumpkins for our Halloween Pumpkin Sharing! We saw a pumpkin carved with the Chinese characters 吉祥如意, which was very impressive.
This week, Mandarin grade 3 and 4 students were introduced to IXL Math. In class, students learned how to log in with their accounts and passwords. IXL provides students with the opportunity to practice math skills and strengthen their knowledge according to their grade level and various topics. We would like to express our gratitude to the school's Parent Council for funding a one-year membership.
这周三、四年级双语班同学开始用IXL 数学为课外加强练习。在课堂上,学生学会了如何用他们的账号和密码登录。在此,我们要感谢学校的家长会赞助购买一年的会员。
