Morning bell rings at 7:55 AM

We want to emphasize the importance of ensuring that your child arrives on time to their classes. They should be at their respective doors at 7:55 AM. Punctuality is not just a matter of routine; it's a key factor in their academic success. Being on time allows students to fully engage in the learning process, minimizes disruptions, and fosters a sense of responsibility. Your support in instilling this valuable habit will greatly benefit your child's education as well as the daily operations of our classrooms.

Picture day is next week! Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten classes as well as grades 3,4,5 and 6 will be taking individual and class photos on Thursday, October 12th and Tuesday/Thursday Kindergarten classes as well as grades 1 and 2 will be on Friday, October 13. We need parent volunteers to support with picture day on both days. Please call the office if you are able to volunteer.

School Council

Hello Midnapore Families,

It is time once again for Midnapore School to run a fundraising casino for 2023-2024. Each previous casino has raised approximately $70,000 for our school which has been used to purchase technology, curriculum enrichment events, Learning Commons furniture, and upgrading the playground.

The casino is held every two years and is only possible with the help of parents, caregivers, relatives, and friends who generously donate their time. Each volunteer will receive a complimentary meal and non-alcoholic drinks. Transportation and babysitting costs can also be reimbursed.

If we do not fill these shifts, we will lose the opportunity with the AGLC to do this fundraising in future years. This year the casino coordinators for the school are Lindsay Charlton and Monica Lee. Please see the details and sign-up link below. Thanks in advance for helping with our school fundraising!

Location: Ace Airport Casino, 40 Aero Crescent NE Calgary
Volunteer shifts: 11:00 am to 7:30pm, 7:00 pm to 3:30 am, and 11:00 pm to 4:00 am. Anyone over 18 can volunteer.

Seed Survivor in school field trip

Halloween

Students are invited to wear a costume at school on October 31. Costumes should be child friendly. Please do not send any prop weapons, food items, or treat bags to school. October 31 will be a regular learning day for students.

We are also encouraging families to participate in our Midnapore School Pumpkin carving festival. Students are asked to carve a pumpkin with their families and bring the pumpkins to school for the day. Students will bring the pumpkin home after school that day as well. We will put all the pumpkins on display and allow students a chance to showcase their pumpkins to the school.

Halloween Dance – October 31 1:00-2:30, 2023

We are excited to announce that we will be having a Halloween School dance on October 31. We will invite Division 1 (K, 1, 2, 3) students to attend the dance from 1-1:45 and Division 2 (Grades 4, 5, 6) students to attend from 1:45-2:30 PM. Our Halloween Dance will be in support of fundraising for our Grade 6 classrooms who are raising money for Outdoor School. Donations ($2) will be accepted to attend the dance but are not mandatory as all students are invited. We will also have some healthy option concessions available for students to purchase if they choose.
