Dear Midnapore Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open House community event last evening. It was wonderful to see so many students, families, and staff gathered together, connecting, sharing, and celebrating the beginning of another school year.

The evening was a great reminder of what makes Midnapore such a special place. Seeing students proudly show their families around the school, families reconnecting with one another, and staff welcoming our community created a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening.

We are grateful to our families for taking the time to join us and for the continued partnership and support you provide to our school. We are also incredibly thankful to our staff for the time, energy, and care they put into making the evening such a success, as well as to our School Council for the special ice cream treat.

Events like last night help strengthen the relationships that are at the heart of our school community. We look forward to continuing to build a year filled with connection, belonging, learning, and many opportunities to come together.

Orange Shirt Day

On Tuesday, September 29, our Midnapore School community will come together to recognize Orange Shirt Day through a school-wide assembly and community walk.

Orange Shirt Day is a time to honour the Survivors of the residential school system, remember the children who did not return home, and recognize the lasting impact residential schools have had on Indigenous communities, families, and individuals. It is also an opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of reconciliation, respect, understanding, and building relationships with one another.

Throughout the day, students will participate in an age-appropriate assembly where we will learn, listen, reflect, and consider how we can contribute to a community grounded in kindness, inclusion, and respect.

Following the assembly, our students and staff will take part in a community walk as a way of coming together in recognition and remembrance. We hope this shared experience will provide students with an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the day and the importance of continuing the work of reconciliation.

Our community walk will fall under the category of a walking field trip, which can be viewed on our school website.

Mandarin Team Update

感谢所有昨晚参加美纳博小学开放日活动的家长和同学们！有这么多学生、家长和老师欢聚在一起，互相交流、分享，一起迎接新学年的到来，我们感到特别开心。

昨晚热闹又温馨的场面，也再次让我们感受到美纳博小学这个大家庭的美好。孩子们兴奋地带着家人参观学校，家长们相互问候、交流近况，老师们也热情地欢迎每一位到来的家长和学生。整个校园里都充满了温暖、欢乐和浓浓的归属感。

感谢每一个家庭在百忙之中抽出时间参加活动，也感谢大家一直以来对学校工作的理解、支持与配合。同时，也要感谢所有教职员工为本次活动付出的时间、精力和用心。最后，特别感谢家长委员会为大家准备的冰淇淋，为这美好的一天增添了一份甜蜜。

Energy Club

We are excited to bring back our Midnapore School Energy Club!

We will be opening the doors again to those who like to move in the morning on Monday, October 5.

If students are interested in this club, we ask that they arrive before the doors open at 7:30 AM.

This is an optional program designed to support teaching and learning by activating our bodies through movement.
